1. Overview
Married In Ink ("Married In Ink," "we," "us," or "our") respects your privacy. This Privacy Policy explains how we collect, use, disclose, and protect personal information when you visit marriedinink.com, submit an inquiry, check a wedding date, join a date-watch list, communicate with us, or otherwise use our website and services.
By using the website, you acknowledge the practices described in this Policy. If you do not agree with this Policy, please do not submit personal information through the website.
2. Information We Collect
We may collect information you provide directly to us, including your name, partner's name, email address, phone number, wedding date, venue information, package and artist preferences, flash-selection preferences, estimated guest information, event notes, media-consent choices, and other information you include in an inquiry or communication.
If you join a date-watch list, we collect the email address and wedding date needed to send availability notifications. If you contact us by email, phone, text, or another channel, we may retain the contents of that communication and related contact information.
We may also automatically receive limited technical information when you use the website, such as IP address, browser or device information, request timestamps, security signals, and similar information used to operate, secure, troubleshoot, and prevent abuse of the website.
3. How We Use Information
We use personal information to operate the website; check and manage wedding-date availability; respond to inquiries; prepare quotes and booking information; communicate with couples and prospective clients; manage our inquiry pipeline; send date-watch notifications; coordinate wedding tattoo services; maintain records; detect fraud, spam, abuse, or security issues; improve our website and business operations; comply with legal obligations; and establish, exercise, or defend legal claims.
We limit our collection and use of personal information to information reasonably related to these business purposes.
4. How We Share Information
We do not sell personal information for money. We may disclose personal information to service providers that process information on our behalf and help us operate the business. These providers currently include infrastructure, database, storage, security, email-delivery, and workflow-management providers such as Supabase, Cloudflare, Resend, and Trello/Atlassian.
We may also disclose information when reasonably necessary to comply with law, legal process, court orders, or governmental requests; protect the rights, property, or safety of Married In Ink, our clients, or others; investigate suspected fraud, abuse, or security incidents; enforce agreements; or in connection with a merger, acquisition, financing, reorganization, sale of assets, or similar business transaction.
We do not authorize service providers to use personal information for their own unrelated purposes merely because they process it for us.
5. Cookies, Security Tools, and Similar Technologies
Our website and infrastructure may use cookies, local storage, server logs, and similar technologies that are necessary for functions such as authentication, theme preferences, website security, fraud prevention, rate limiting, and reliable operation.
We use Cloudflare Turnstile or similar anti-abuse technology on certain forms. These tools may process technical and device information to determine whether a request appears legitimate. If we later add non-essential analytics or advertising technologies, we will update this Policy and, where required, provide appropriate notice or choices.
6. Data Retention
We retain personal information only for as long as reasonably necessary for the purposes described in this Policy, including managing inquiries and bookings, maintaining business and tax records, resolving disputes, enforcing agreements, preventing abuse, and satisfying legal or regulatory requirements.
Retention periods may vary depending on the type of information and whether an inquiry becomes a confirmed booking. We may retain limited records for a longer period when reasonably necessary to document transactions, legal obligations, consent, or dispute history.
7. Data Security
We use reasonable administrative, technical, and organizational safeguards designed to protect personal information against unauthorized access, loss, misuse, alteration, or disclosure. These safeguards include access controls, authenticated administrative access, encrypted network connections, database security controls, anti-abuse protections, and limiting access to information to people and systems that need it for legitimate business purposes.
No website, transmission method, or storage system can be guaranteed to be completely secure. You should avoid sending highly sensitive information that we have not specifically requested.
8. Your Privacy Choices and Rights
You may contact us to request access to, correction of, or deletion of personal information associated with you. Depending on where you live and applicable law, you may also have rights to receive a portable copy of certain personal data, opt out of certain forms of sale, targeted advertising, or qualifying profiling, and appeal a decision we make regarding a privacy request.
We do not currently sell personal information for money or process personal information for targeted advertising through this website. We will not discriminate against you for exercising privacy rights provided by applicable law.
To submit a privacy request or appeal a prior privacy decision, email MarriedInInk@gmail.com with the subject line "Privacy Request." We may take reasonable steps to verify your identity before completing a request.
9. Texas Residents
To the extent the Texas Data Privacy and Security Act applies to our processing, Texas residents may have rights to confirm whether we process their personal data; access that data; correct inaccuracies; delete certain personal data; obtain a portable copy; and opt out of qualifying targeted advertising, sale of personal data, or certain profiling.
Requests may be submitted using the email address above. If we decline a qualifying request, you may appeal by replying to our response and stating that you wish to appeal the decision. If an appeal is denied, we will provide information about how to contact the Texas Attorney General where required by law.
10. California and Other State Privacy Laws
Residents of California and other U.S. states may have additional rights where a state privacy law applies to Married In Ink. Those rights may include access, correction, deletion, portability, and rights concerning certain disclosures or uses of personal information. We will honor applicable rights when legally required and may voluntarily honor reasonable requests even when a particular statute does not apply.
11. Age Restriction and Minors' Privacy
Our website, booking process, and tattoo services are intended for adults age 18 and older. We do not knowingly solicit or accept booking inquiries or date-watch submissions from anyone under 18. If we learn that we collected personal information from a person under 18 through these services, we may delete it or take other appropriate steps. If you believe someone under 18 has provided personal information to us, contact us so we can review the matter.
12. Third-Party Websites and Services
The website may link to third-party websites or services. Their privacy practices are governed by their own policies, not this one. We are not responsible for the privacy practices of third parties that we do not control.
13. Changes to This Policy
We may update this Privacy Policy as our services, technology, vendors, or legal obligations change. The "Last updated" date at the top of this page shows when the current version became effective. Material changes may also be communicated through the website or by another appropriate method.
